Unboxing the Sony Xperia 1 ii flagship smartphone, fresh for 2020, including an in-depth tour of the specs, software, camera tech and features. This is one of the most premium phones of the year and it's been four long months since Sony's launch, so here's all you need to know ahead of my Xperia 1 ii full review. That camera tech is one of the most intriguing aspects of this £1100 blower, especially with the Cinema Pro and Photo Pro apps giving full manual control. Sony's hardware appears the same on paper as last year's flagship, with triple 12MP cameras on board. However, you now have Zeiss branded optics with improved auto focus and exposure, along with a few other tweaks. Performance is a winner as always thanks to the Snapdragon 865 platform, backed by 8GB RAM. The Xperia 1 ii can certainly blast through a game of PubG Mobile, no worries. Battery life should be good too, with a 4000mAh cell on board. It's the media chops that are really exciting though. The 6.5-inch notch-free display is a 4K beauty with HDR support and complete customisation, while you also get Sony's excellent LDAC, DSEE and other audio smarts.
