In this tropical island, we call Weaver Ants (Oecophylla smaragdina): Rangrang, which means big red ants. We call them exactly what they look like under the bright tropical sun. This video is our attempt at capturing the beautiful world of Weaver Ants that live in our backyard. The colony has workers, drones, princesses and unusually more than one queen. The princesses and the queens are quite large compared to the workers. In this video we use a range of macro lenses to get ourselves as close as we can to the ants without harming them or ourselves.
