Frying meatballs: an irresistible appetizer to try!

You won't be able to stop at one! INGREDIENTS 300g minced beef 2 cloves garlic, minced 15ml (1 tbsp) ginger extract 15ml (1 tbsp) mayonnaise 2g (1 tsp) red pepper flakes 3g (1/2 tsp) salt 1g (1/2 tsp) black pepper 60g (1/2 cup) tempura powder 60g (1/2 cup) corn starch 125ml (1/2 cup) cold water Vegetable oil (for frying)   METHOD  In a bowl combine meat, garlic, ginger extract, mayo, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.  Form small meatballs from the prepared mixture.  In another bowl mix tempura powder with corn starch. Reserve 40g (1/3 cup) of this mixture. Add water and stir to obtain a soft batter.  Dust a plate with the reserved mixture and place meatballs on top. Shake the plate to make meatballs moving in the coating. Continue until all of the meatballs are well-coated.  Dip coated meatballs in the batter.  Heat oil over medium heat. When hot, add meatballs and fry for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Take them out of the pan and place on paper towels to drain off any excess fat for 5 minutes.  Return meatballs to the pan with hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes more.  Serve and enjoy! ------------------------------------- About us: ‘Cookist’ offers you everyday fresh, fun and easy recipes.
