Unboxing the Honor 9X Lite, a £200 budget smartphone packing full Google Services support. This is one of the only 2020 phones from Huawei's off-shoot that gives you Google Play access for downloading apps. This hands-on review takes you through the performance (including a PubG Test), camera tech, specs and other bits of the Honor 9X Lite, in case you're tempted. This mobile came out in China many months ago but has made the trip to the UK because of its software - you're not reliant on Huawei's services like the App Gallery. However, that also means aspects like the performance are lagging behind some of the best budget smartphones of 2020 so far. That Kirin 710F chipset can handle PubG Mobile and Call of Duty, but the frame rate isn't exactly consistently smooth. If you're after a gaming phone, maybe check out the Redmi or Realme devices instead. You get a dual-lens rear camera rather than the usual quad-lens efforts, but it's fine for everyday shots and the night mode works well. You can't record 4K video however. Are you tempted by the Honor 9X Lite? Check out my round-up of the best budget blowers under £200 for alternative options.
